My undergraduate degree is from the University of Michigan at Dearborn, with a major in political science. I graduated With Distinction.
My law degree is from the Detroit College of Law, now Michigan State University College of Law, where I was awarded a Certificate For Excellence In the Study Of Law.
I served for 6 years in the Michigan Air National Guard, as a member of the 127th Tactical Reconnaissance Wing, and was Honorably Discharged in 1977. I love reading, traveling, playing music, and sports.
I got hooked on ice hockey many years ago by my son, learned to skate, went to hockey school (quite a sight to see a man in his early 40's doing hockey drills with kids in their early teens) and have been playing in an adult league ever since, with a great group of guys.
More recently, I took up fly fishing, which I have yet to figure out, but love it. Someone once said trout only reside in the most beautiful places. How true. Perhaps that's why I'm never disappointed when I spend time on a river with nothing tangible to show for it.
And I got quite a thrill out of playing a set with my high school rock band in the summer of 2018 as part of the dedication ceremonies as the school district decided to close it after more than 50 years of service.
